'Purdie' was marvelous really, when you consider up to 600 classic cars converging on the Memorial Park this morning it was inevitable that you were looking at a 20 minute crawl to your designated plot, at less than 5 miles an hour stop start is quite a strain on any classic, and a few fell by the wayside. She coped well with this, but became jumpy when the rally commenced, so detoured back to the house to arrange a impromptu Picnic in the Park on their return. It transpired when I checked her over, and rev ed her up good, she ran fine, you have to understand if you neglect a 1.8 engine with twin SU 'carbs', they will protest. After that she ran beautifully.
We Picnicked with the boys, and saw a wonderful Laurel and Hardy tribute act!, truly Fun, ( the boys were unfamiliar with them) they blew things up, and drove around in a Model T. Great Fun. So remember watching their Films as a kid, especially around Christmas, then they were deemed a treat. Took Pics.
Well done Coventry transport museum, a marvellous day out, one not filled with people kicking off or getting pissed and caught up with some friends to; a true family day out, must be something to do with the Classic car fraternity, Coventry remains the spiritual home of British motoring. Will definitely do it next year, and bring 'Katies' Midget?.
