The Great Election 'Facta Non Verba'

Was it really thirteen years or so ago when I stood as the candidate for Cheylesmore in Coventry, and 'New labour' stormed the polls?. I remember standing with some wonderful people on a hot evening into the early hours at the 'Coventry Sports Centre' as all the ballots were counted.
The late great Alistair Cooke in his letters from America once said "the average mental age of the American voter is Five!" he may have had a point. My father like many others fought for all of us for the freedom and right to vote, and would have approved of my actions, he never lived long enough to see me run for City Council. Well Dad I followed through for you tonight in my own small way, and for the first time ever, so did my daughter. I personally wish the David Cameron well, "seize the day" as they say... and remember, 'Facta Non Verba'.
