Old Movies

I was watching the telly yesterday when a film starts called 'Avalanche Express', it struck a chord as I remember reading the book years ago which I essentially enjoyed. I had to snigger, Linda Evans looked incredibly bored and pissed off, no doubt unsettled by the gravitas of Lee Marvin and Maximillian Schell.; and she was as Sexy as a wet fish!, talk about no bothering, a right old crone.
So you had Max Schell walking through these European stations in a ridiculous wig and hat, he might as well have had a flashing sign on his back saying 'terrorist!', anyway Lee climbs out of the train as its going through the alps and in nothing more than a tweed jacket separates the rear carriages with 'Plastique' explosive, and as one would expect no body bat's an eyelid at the station when they role in all leery, and they then bolt on replacement carriages!, if only British Rail would work like that, you would have health and safety bitching away about how 'semtex' does not mix with carriage couplings, and you must always wear safety goggles etc.
So in the end they blow up the baddies on their Russian trawler, which is in fact a ship, loaded to the gunnel's with machine gun platforms (which would surly have looked a tad suspect in a European port?) this is achieved by the good guys firing torpedoes at their vessel, which look suspiciously like painted drainpipes!. What a film, they don't make them like that anymore well done Lorrimar Productions.
