I had the pleasure this afternoon of looking at a fabulous 1935 Armstrong Siddley 'long back'. Its engine over 3 litre capacity housed just one modest carburettor, its alternator was in fact a Dynamo, and when you revved her engine, which incidentally a baby could easily sleep to; the distributor cap actually partly rotated, why I am not sure, but she was marvellous!. A pleasure to look over, and of course made in Coventry, in fact one of its parts made by 'Cornercroft engineering', which originally was a mere three hundred yards from where I type my Blog entry this very night.
This weekend is the 'Coventry Festival of Motoring' I will of course be taking 'Purdy' to the big Picnic in our Memorial Park on Sunday, I will take her for a test run in the morning on my own personal 'TestTrack' otherwise known as the Coventry ring road; the weather will be wonderful so if you are free, do come and surround yourself with hundreds of classic cars, and bring a Picnic.
