Cold Mornings in the Metropolis

When you are tempted to simply stay in bed. But I didn't, and saw the boys off to school with a friendly wave from my cold porch. The sun is out above the great City of Coventry, and its damn cold. Just fed Max the left over spag bol with mushrooms from yesterday, and along with my back up mobile phone, wished him well also on his way to college. Marmaduke is running around the garden as I watch, while warming my hands on my first cup of Earl Grey for the day.
Katie has put up a lovely assortment of bird feeders in the garden, but it does occur to me that our garden and the adjacent ones are more than saturated with there fair share of Cats!, so I cant really see the Tits getting a look in?.
The president of America is busy brown nosing the Chinese I see on the BBC news, and the very real tragedy of the Rice boys in the Australian floods is counter balanced by two teenage idiots on their surf boards drinking beer while paddling in the flood waters of Queensland celebrating their good luck?. I feel immense sympathy for the good people of Queensland, while at the same time ask why did this have to happen?.
So in reality things could be a lot worst in our lives, so we should all remain positive if possible, and start this fractious year as we mean to finish.
