The title in itself is a bit of an Oxymoron when you think about it. I was out the other night down the 'Windmill' with Harry enjoying a late drink, ( the only decent Cider in Town) when he was discussing how angry and uptight he gets when watching TV. Apparently my ex -wife said to him I was the same. I went on to tell him it was quite normal and a healthy way to vent his feelings.
When I was a teenager for example I would read my fathers Daily Mail, and being totally naive I believed everything it said!. There was no body around including I might say my teachers, who could have informed me a lot of this stuff in the media is bull.. They confuse you by mixing real facts with subjective analysis. Take the Syrian situation for example, on the BBC the government is evil (which is probably true in this case) and watch Russia today, the rebels have become terrorists. This propaganda knows no limits, the BBC will groom and present a fat northern female comedienne and tell us how down to earth and funny she is, when in fact shes a well re- hearsed actress whom repeats her routine word for word on any channel she can get on, and will blast any one in her audience whom dare take a picture of her, so you conclude shes a rather bitter and groomed individual; but no, shes the newest of our Fun personalities!. Consequently I don't like or trust her because shes false, and every time I see her on the TV, I get angry, so you see how it works?
The papers are subjective and manipulative mediums, even the so called independents, the TV which we all watch, is even worst, god only knows how I got through last year with the BBC telling us how the Olympics saved us all and its fucking legacy!.,( you know I must be angry when I start swearing) so consciously or otherwise we get really pissed off when watching TV, because behind the facade of it all, we know were being manipulated, and consequently insulted and that's what makes Harry, angry. So my new years resolution is to watch intelligent and relevant TV when I can find it, more Documentaries perhaps, and withdraw into my safe hobbies, the politicians and media barons can go to hell in a hand basket as far as I am concerned.
