Well if the word Focaccia isn't obscene, then it surly ranks alongside the German aircraft company Focke Wolf! snigger... I have discovered on my culinary life journey through M&S today (or is it S&M snigger...) that its a hand topped bread which I finish off at home, composed of roasted red onions and Gruyere cheese, Mozzarella, Regato and cheddar cheese etc. Looks fabulous and will compliment my main course. Its a sort of Chili con carne, lean minced Beef to which I have added Onions, butter beans ( I simply love Butter Beans) as well as Kidney beans, various peppers, and plum tomatoes. Just a pinch of cinnamon and some top secret ingredients, and compliment with a bed of rice, all of which was taught to me by my very old Babushka grandmother when I was a mere child all those sepia printed years ago. God I miss that woman, how she would rock me on here ancient knees and spoon feed me Borsch....
I also spent the morning with my Mum expanding my larder to encompass some Scottish Muscles in White wine sauce, and some gorgeous nibbly Feta cheese cubes with red peppers and Chili in Oil.. The smells wafting around my Kitchen are sexy delicious, all I need now of course is to open this bottle of wine and a willing maiden dressed in nothing say for a discrete apron, to dine with me this evening....
Alternatively, I may get a fleeting glance of my gastronomic philistine of a son, grunting at worst, or at best mono syllabically confirming his approval!. I miss adult company...
