Cold Snaps and Stargazing with Patrick Moore
Were into a cold snap yet again in Coventry. As I look out of the windows the cars on the street are all frozen over with that wonderful glittering powder of ice crystals. Yet its very deceptive, though while beautiful its fiercely cold and potentially lethal out there. So I am compensating for this extreme of weather by putting some fish and chips in the oven, with mushy peas of course; to lift ones soul.
Was on EBAY earlier and had this sudden compulsion to bid on something I always promised myself as a kid, a Astronomical Telescope!. In our day they were absurdly expensive, so in a way I am trying to recapture my youth full imagination, to gaze upon the moon once again and to dream a little. When I was a teenager I always tried to catch Patrick Moore in 'The Sky at Night' and still love the show to this day, what a hero!. I could involve the boys of course, if their interested that is, being the computer generation, they maybe beyond simple Astronomy; but not in this bloody cold weather!!.
