History lessons in a Cynical World

We live in a Cynical world to say the least, and these last few days have been all the more remarkable when you consider two news items of interest. Firstly the so called England bid for the world cup ( as if Joe average ever wanted it!) you had the likes of Prince William and David Beckham prostituting themselves with no shame to Fat Cat corrupt FIFA officials; whom are well known to be bent as 'five bob notes'. Slinging their women designer handbags and generally embarrassing themselves. Then to their abject horror, they lose the bid with accusations of "we've been lied to!!". I mean really! what planet are these people on?, 'Planet Celeb' clearly. I can imagine Charles whispering into 'Willy's' ear, "actually son, we only associate ourselves with success stories when possible". As for Beckham, he will lay on his bed crying on top of his piles of money I am sure.
The second observation of the week is our man in 'Wikileaks', he's in London waiting to be arrested on some nonsense or another, as the worlds governments are a tad pissed off with him for spilling their beans. When all is said and done, history is being made here in the fundamental right to free speech. The governments of the world should hang their heads in shame, but they will not.
