1980 MGB GT

This week as I was turning right on the Binley road on my way to work, much to my surprise, the front wheel of my old Volvo decided to carry on!.. And after seven or so years of pleasure she was no more, and I will miss her. I am going to replace her this Friday with a Vauxhall Omega 2.5 rear wheel drive, it just seemed to be the right car for me now.
When I first had the Volvo people would rave on about Turbo's, but in a short time you get used to them, it becomes as predictable as power steering. So for the last few days I have been driving the MG regularly to work, this in itself being unusual as I generally drive her intermittently; and by doing so she's been letting little secrets slip out. As I was turning onto Stoney Road this evening she suddenly teased me, her twin carb's pulled suggestively with a burst of power which I felt immediately. Its a different type of sensation you see, no power steering, so you have to control her more. What pleasure it is!!, I am slowly beginning to understand now the appeal of a classic car.
