All Hallows 2013

Well its my day off, and I am wandering around the house in my dressing gown, trying to recover from my 'cursed' sore throat!. I look like something out of a Victorian melodrama. Last night I went to bed after a hot bath, three glasses of Gin in Orange juice, took some pain killers and slept like a Log.
A grey start to this years 'All Hallows Eve', every year it seems to be getting bigger in the States, something I am very aware of at this time of year by the entries on Facebook by my various  cousins;  but of course the old country is where its all to be found, with its origins in part from Scotland, with its Ghost and Ghoulishness. All the fancy dress shops are in overdrive, especially with all the students in the City. Emma texted me last night and was already celebrating, and yes I guess celebrating is the right word for this generation, and why not. Its all good escapism, wrapped in a sense of tradition and history, complimented by Hollywood hype, lest not forget that excitement we had when we were innocent kids, and lovers dressed in sexy witches outfits.
No invitations for me tonight, so I will see how the night takes my fancy, 'never more' said the Raven, 'Never More'...
