Spent this morning exploring Bosworth Field, which encompassed a wonderful walk and pub lunch, I really had no idea that it was not until 1985. that this field adjacent to Daddlington; was actually identified as the place of battle in the War of the Roses, and the birth of the Tudors. Quite enjoyed the Daddlington local brew, to boot. This is essentially the location where Richard III died, only to have his body discovered last year in a Leicester car park, a very rare event in Archeological terms indeed, with its own ensuing controversy's, even today. A place packed with history, train stop, canal and marshes. What a lovely day I had.
