I used to have a Poster of something like that hanging on my bedroom wall. Spent the day trying to concentrate on relaxing. Still had to go shopping of course it is Saturday after all. So into town with 'Katie' and the boys and 'Emma'. Usual work out carrying the shopping home, then to 'Asda' for a Can shop, beans and sausages etc. Then finally home. The Sun was in and out, and due to the recent Rain fall, not overly hot. So me and Katie grabbed the sun loungers, I had her old upright, which when she instructed me to turn over on to do my back, promptly disintegrated!, which she found Hilarious!!, as is her way. So I reconfigured the cushions onto the grass with a throw, and relaxed. Slept for a short while, and awoke staring up into the blue sky, below one of my trees. Looking up into the sunny sky, observing the advance of the Ivy up its trunk, the insects, the scents of summer, made me appreciative of all things natural, I was at one with nature.
I remember the pilot episode, or was it 'The Cage', of Star Trek when Captain Christopher Pyke becomes disillusioned of command, and misses home. He yearns for being on his Ranch with his blond partner, riding his horse, Picnicking on a glorious day. He was stressed and needed to find this secure haven, a sort of Nirvana, so he escapes into this alternate reality.
Now I understand this evocative image even more, we need to escape, sometimes to the most simple of moments. Next week I am mostly off, and God I need it!. Will repair the Patio, and work on Purdey, but first and for most, Relax!, we must all relax...
