Dieting

If you type in Dieting at Fifty on the ,interweb,, pretty much bugger all comes up. This is probably because at Fifty we are wise to the 'bull' that comes with dieting programs, so the companies see no business in our age group. Were also wise to the nonsense of 'Active yogurts' and 'Vitamins' to; in conclusion, they must find us all a bit frustrating.
So the answer is, believe it or not, simply eat less, eat good, and incorporate moderate regular exercise in your lifestyle. So you may have gathered by now my strict diet is going well, so I will not lecture you, however I must make some observations. By dieting you also go through a sort of Detox, and I find that interesting, first thing you notice is people on the go on the daily commute, gorging on Baguettes and Crisps right in front of you, god only knows their hungry, its just that you start to become more aware of the food you were eating, and your sense of smell becomes more acute. I was following one guy down the steps at New Street station the other day and I could smell the salted and roasted peanuts he was throwing down his throat, I swear I could actually smell the oil they had been cooked in. Attending a workshop in Selly Oak this week they had the obligatory 'fancy' sandwiches composed of delicious exotic fillings packed with salt and sugars in a high calorie malted type bread, All delicious, and suspiciously addictive, and all the women tucking in and scoffing them ,were all overweight, and theirs the rub, all this salt and sugar packed temptation can be the death of us, we need sometimes to stop and think about what were all eating.
