While the Blackbirds attack my tree for its Mulberry's, I am reminded the summer solstice approaches. We know what it signifies, Earths maximum axial tilt towards the Sun, a festival and celebration, our midsummer is one definition; of spiritual and Pagan symbolism for many of us. We all do not need Stonehenge, or the beautiful 'Avebury' in Wiltshire to remind us of our past, even though in England they remain powerful symbols. I have said before that I have the richest memories of visiting Stonehenge and watching the sun rise over the alter stone in 1977, I know to go back now to this 'theme park' would only disappoint me.
Its important we celebrate this amazing day wherever we are, in what ever way we chose, with family, friends and make offerings to our God of wine and simple food, and reflect on our past and future lovers.
