The Falkirk Wheel.

It sort of just sits there in the middle of an mediocre housing estate. A genuine masterpiece. Therefore in terms of location it takes you a little by surprise, but then why not?. This is where you expect to find canal networks, abandoned or otherwise. You arrive to view a piece of engineering, but its much more than that. Apart from the simplicity of its engineering, I think its quite beautiful, something we rarely associate with engineering, and yet there's more, its immensely practical, silent and makes so many statements.
While I watched the boats enter deep down in my mind I could hear the theme to 'Thunderbirds' as she moved, what a true marvel.
